Warmup
Skill Work
W.O.D.
Four rounds for time of
400 m Run
50 Squats
Dress warm just in case it is cold

Jay and Justin are local firemen and Brad and Lona are police officers. We want to thank them as well as Jeremy, Josh, and Brandon for their service to our community

Aaron has been working on his Muscle Up and it showed as he was one of only two people to do "Nate" Rx'd. Good job to Blake M, he got a CrossFit Dixie record of 13 rounds

Tracy is one of the original CrossFit Dixie members and she continues to work hard with her diet and it is definitely showing in the W.O.D's
I CrossFit because I can……
Here is a question for you all…. Why do you CrossFit? I want to here your answers in the comments. No matter how “corny” you may think they are, or how “tuff” you think you are post the reason(s). I CrossFit to become even more of a BEAST, to improve my health, to get stronger/ faster,/leaner, to go places mentally I have never been, to test how far I can push myself, and to be with friends….. Now let me see what you got….

CrossFit: The New Truth Serum
I really thought about it last night: the Q word. Quitting. Stopping. Saying “No mas.”
Somewhere in the second round of “DT”, I thought “Just stop. It hurts too much. Say you’re too old. Too tired. It doesn’t feel right.”
In all the CrossFit workouts I’ve done over the last three years, none make me want to quit as much as D.T. I could deadlift until the proverbial paleo cows come home, but the hang power clean is my nemesis, and the push jerk is its brother. I’d rather full squat clean everything — and the push jerk wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t have to come back down. But it does. And it crushes me.
But who would I be if I quit? Who would I be if I just sat down and watched the others march deeper into the fight, the pain, the struggle — and I left them? How would I feel when they emerged on the other side — tired, but happy, and triumphant?
I would be a lesser person. And I can’t have that.
If I give up here, I’ll give up in other parts of life. If I fail to do my best here, I will fail when other people need my best.
CrossFit is like life: Either you’re someone who sees things through to the end, no matter how difficult or painful or hard — or you’re a quitter. Or a cheater. Or a liar. CrossFit can show your true colors in 15 mins with a barbell and a stopwatch.
The Japanese have an old belief that you have to see someone drunk to witness their true colors, but I think we have something better. Watch someone CrossFit: It’s the ultimate truth serum.
Decide who you want to be in life — and show that person to us on the gym floor. It really is that simple. Don’t just tell us the truth. Show us. CrossFit.

I started doing Crossfit because every attempt at pushing myself in a “club” gym had ended in failure. I heard how tough it was from the guys at work and I really wanted to prove that I could do it. As bad as it hurts some days, I have become addicted to it. I started doing triathlons last year but became lazy in the winter and all the summer training was lost. This year I now crossfit is going to be my secret weapon to get on the podium in next years events.
Also, my wife really digs the changes in my body, so that doesn’t hurt the motivation either.

lol. Travis, i think all our wives are happy about us doing crossfit. haha. I crossfit for many reasons. I love that it challenges me EVERY SINGLE DAY. Crossfit challenges me mentally, physically, emotionally. I crossfit because it pushes me as an athlete. I am past the point where i work out and eat healthy to look good. I do it because i feel better, i’m a better husband, father, employee, etc…. Just because my athletic career is long over doesn’t mean i have to stop being an athlete. What always drew me to athletics was the feeling of competition and with crossfit you get that everyday. You can challenge and compete against yourself and other crossfitters. I could seriously go on and on about what i love about crossfit and why i do it. I have a buddy up north(Hawk) that crossfits also and anytime we talk crossfit always comes up and we chat back and forth about what we’re doin, our times, our weights, what we are good at, what we suck at, and its like the conversation never gets old cause we’re always gettin better and pushing the envelope. It’s pretty cool. Crossfit is the BEEZ NEEZ!!!!!

I Crossfit because “Strong is better than skinny fat.” It challenges me every day to push myself to do things I never thought I could achieve. I Crossfit because its teaching me to be healthier and stronger on the inside and outside.

I CrossFit because what the hell else is there? I got done playing ball and I was lost. I was tired of the same routine. I did legs on Monday and Thursday, Chest and Tris on Tues and Fri and Back and Bi’s on Wed and Sat for years. That was how I thought. People…ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY! I was so tired of working out that I let two whole years pass me by and I got out of shape and most importantly, I was unhappy. I now have the formula to stay in shape for the rest of my life. Last week I had to do “Eva”. 5 rounds for time of 800 m Row(I subbed the run for a row cause my foot has really been bothering me), 30 Pullups, 30 70lb Dumbbell swings. I was all alone at CrossFit Dixie. After the first round, the only thing I could think of was quitting. I did the second round, and the urge to quit got stronger. I convinced myself to do three and call it a day. I easily could have quit and nobody would have known the difference. But I would have. I would have known and I would’ve had to live with that. Instead I pushed through and finished it. As I lay on the floor in a puddle of sweat I could only think of one thing- I finished it. I did every rep and because of that day I know that I am a better person, husband, friend, and trainer. I CrossFit because of all of you. I CrossFit because every day I witness greatness in small things. I CrossFit because Kasi Miller has something that is all hers and she is totally happy with herself for the first time in a while. I CrossFit because Kelly Mitchell pushes herself every time she comes. I CrossFit because Jay, Justin, Lona, Brad, Jeremy, Josh, and Brandon now can honestly say that they are in the shape they need to be in to perform their jobs. I CrossFit because Tiff is pregnant and she still can’t miss a day because she doesn’t want to lose the pullups that she has worked so hard to get. I CrossFit because Connie can’t even make a fist because her hands are so calloused and sore from all the pullups, yet she still comes back for more every day. I could go on and on and talk about each and every one of you but it all boils down to this-I CrossFit because it is the shit and nothing in the realm of fitness will ever be able to bring me the satisfaction and self worth that it does on a daily basis. I hope you all feel the same way. Sorry for rambling, but this is how I feel. This is a really cool topic and I hope that more of you will share your feelings

I crossfit because it pushes me to do things I never thought I would be able to do. Seriously who can say they can do 90 pull-ups in a work out. Well I can now. Only crossfitters. Plus there will be many more things to come. I am a better person mentally and physically.

to Jamie. That is the way to think! Skinny fat is not allowed. Good attitude.

I crossfit because I LOVE the feeling you get right before arriving to the box. The “pre-game feeling” or “butterflies”. Knowing that the WOD is gonna kick your ass and knowing that your gonna kick some ass doin it!! I crossfit because there’s nothing like improvement. Knowing you got better at a specific thing….setting a new PR. I crossfit because I love the feeling I get when I have finished a WOD. The numb feet, the pounding chest, then of course… the headache.. but soon after the satisfaction..

I crossfit because of the KOOL AID!!!

I Crossfit to get those same, disgusting, gut-wrenching feelings that I had during basketball practice while running ladders my Senior year of High School. I Crossfit to classify myself as the guy in the “after” photo box, and not the guy in the “before.” I Crossfit to get monstrosities of callouses on my hands after doing pullups, and then shave the dead skin off in the shower. I Crossfit to continually increase my hatred for the concept of jogging. I Crossfit for that burning soreness that I wake up to after a night of squats and cleans.
I Crossfit so that at the end of the day, I can honestly look in the mirror, and know that I pushed myself to the point that is making me a better man.

Well boys, I’m an imposter, my name is Chase H. from O-town, I grew up with the Boyers and work out with Jacie and Julie Boyer. This topic inspired me for some reason so here goes……
I crossfit because I love the feeling of being challenged every day physically and mentally, because I love the feeling of competition, because I love to be humbled and try to conquer my weaknesses, because I love the friendships, because I love the pain the day of and the days after, because I love the feeling of self worth, because I want to inspire my children & family to always take fitness and health serious, because it also makes me a better person, father, husband and worker, I crossfit because I LOVE IT!!! I love the quote from above on your website, how they talk about crossfit applying to all aspects of your life, if you succeed in crossfit and push through, you are a winner not a quiter.

I still have something to prove, it is something deep within me that I really can’t put into words. I do it just for me…no one else, just for me. I love the high, I love to be pushed, and I love my Crossfit family.

I crossfit because I want to look good naked! I crossfit because I have never seen change for the good in my body after taking two years of spin classes, yet after a few months of crossfit there is notable change. I crossfit because it is such a boost when Kade notices that my deadlift weight has increased and he is genuinely impressed. I crossfit because I have yet to nail the double unders and I will continue to come until I OWN them. I crossfit for many reasons, but mostly to look good naked!
